Support the Island Breaststrokers
Support the Island Breaststrokers in their mission to build strength, connection, and community through dragon boating for breast cancer survivors.
A Community of Strength and Healing
The Island Breaststrokers are a team of breast cancer survivors who come together through dragon boating to rebuild strength, confidence, and connection after diagnosis and treatment.
For more than 30 years, the team has been part of the Victoria community. As one of the longest-running breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams in the world, their focus is simple: to ensure that anyone who wants to paddle has the opportunity to do so.
Why Support Matters
Paddling supports more than physical recovery. It creates space for community, shared experience, and a sense of forward movement at a time when many people are rebuilding their lives.
Like many community-based teams, the Island Breaststrokers rely on ongoing support to sustain their work. Fundraising helps cover:
Equipment and maintenance
Boat rentals and training costs
Festival and event participation
Community outreach and awareness efforts
Financial support for paddlers who need it
The goal is to keep the team accessible and inclusive, regardless of someone’s financial situation.
Donations of any size help remove barriers and enable more survivors to participate, connect, and heal through paddling.
This is not a one-time effort. It is ongoing, year after year.
